Students sharing their learning
After reading The One and Only Bob, our students worked in their IMPACT classes on a project-based learning unit (PBL). Students worked to answer the question: How can we use lessons from the book to inspire our community to care more deeply for the animals around us?  In PE, students planned and build dog houses. In art, they learned about animals at the humane society and painted pictures of them.  In coding and library, 3rd-5th grade students worked to learn about keeping animals safe by learning what could be harmful to them or how they stay safe during natural disasters. They used this information to make bookmarks and posters. Kindergarten-2nd grade students used Scratch Jr to design an environment for a dog to live in that included things they need and coded their dogs to object in their environment. 4K students as the book and built doghouses to show what they learned about the needs of pets. Our Sharks had so much fun learning about caring for animals and using lessons from The One and Only Bob to solve their problem!
