Luke Broadwell Mounting "Shark Fin"

At McKissick Academy of Science and Technology, partnerships make a difference, and this week we’re celebrating one that brought skill, creativity, and school pride together in a big way.

When our school needed a fresh new look for the car line, the Pickens County Career and Technology Center (PCCTC) and Welding Instructor Mr. Luke Broadwell stepped up in a big way. Mr. Broadwell and his welding students took our idea and turned it into reality by designing, creating, and painting custom shark fins that now line our car pickup area.

The results are stunning and meaningful. Not only did the students produce high-quality work that improves the appearance of our campus, but they also gained real-world, work-based learning experience that connects their classroom lessons to community impact.

This collaboration highlights the power of career and technical education in preparing students for the workforce while helping local schools grow and improve.

We’re grateful to Mr. Broadwell and the talented students at PCCTC for their hard work, craftsmanship, and partnership. Thanks to them, our car line looks sharper than ever and our SHARK pride is on full display! 🦈💙
