Local Author-illustrator, Shanda McCloskey will be visiting our school on Friday, May 3rd to talk with students about reading, writing, and drawing robots! You can order a book online at authorvisitcentral.com with code CLEMS. Books will arrive the day of the event.

The Literati Book Fair is coming back to Clemson Elementary the week after Spring Break! The Book Fair brings a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every interest and reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits as they run wild with reading!

All adults shopping at the Book Fair must check in at the office. During school hours, please park in the front parking lot and enter through the office. If you are shopping after school and your child is a car rider at dismissal, please pick up your child in the car line, park in the front parking lot, and enter through the office.

* Book Fair Gift Cards- Digital gift cards are an easy payment method that won’t get lost in a backpack. Use any leftover amounts online or at your next Literati Book Fair. They also make great gifts for teachers! Gift cards can be purchased at efairs.literati.com.
* Cash, checks made payable to Clemson Elementary, and credit cards will be accepted.
* Sales tax (7%) is applied to each purchase.
Students in grades 3-5 will be administered SC Ready assessments beginning April 18th. SC Ready is a state-wide assessment program in ELA and Math for grades 3-5 and Science for grade 4 only. All students will also participate in a field test this year for writing. As a reminder, personal electronic devices (including smart watches) are not allowed during testing. Please ensure that students arrive on time, get plenty of rest, and eat a healthy breakfast. Please try to schedule upcoming appointments outside of the testing window.
We will be hosting two Future Tiger Days for our new 5K students. If you or someone you know will have a 5K student, invite them to attend this great event on Tuesday, March 26 @ 5:00 pm or Thursday, March 28 @ 1:00 pm.

The Clemson Elementary International Festival! Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11:00a – 2:00p. Celebrate our cultural diversity, sample delicious cuisines, watch inspiring performances, and participate in crafts and games. Students are invited to dress up and join the famous parade of countries.

This week PTA is sponsoring an Artist in Residence, Nancy Basket. She is story telling and sharing about basket weaving. Third graders are having an awesome hands-on experience of weaving.
PTA Frosty's Fair is this week. It is "snow" fun to see the kids shopping for others. The fair will run through Friday. Students can shop with their class.

Clemson Elementary presented our Veteran's Program today. Fourth and fifth grade students in the chorus sang beautiful patriotic songs. Fifth grade students shared about each of the armed forces. The book, "America's White Table," was shared during the program.
Fourth and fifth grade students in Mrs. Young's Physical Education Class have been participating in the Wheels to Wellness Clinic. The purpose of the program is to teach students the importance of bicycle safety. The students have been learning the proper way to wear a helmet, adjusting a bike to fit them, using the correct communication while riding solo or in a group, as well as some fun yet challenging activities to test their skills on a bike.
